P.S. I Love You

Annyeong!!! It has been such a long time that I have been updating this blog...might not be such a bad news after all! Since majority of the posts are sobby anyway...
Managed to catch 2 movies or should I say 1 1/2 (cos I really can't stand 'The assasination of JESSE JAMES by the coward Robert Ford' as its too slow moving on this already draggy saturday)... but 'P.S. I Love You' is still not a bad watch....

As per Hollywood movies, the plot seems a bit far fetch but its kinda sweet that despite his death, the husband, Gerry still managed to deliver the letters timely to his wife, Holly via the relatives and friends around her; whom they swear not to tell her how they get the letters. I thought for once when watching the trailers that its those type of husband dies, then his spirit is hovering around kind of show...

Watching the show reminds me of a qn asked by a friend....If you can choose, would you want to die before your partner or after him/her?

I think the easier thing to hope for is to die before your partner as you would not have to go through the trauma of losing your most loved ones and I would presume most girls would want their better half to give the type of answer as "Dear, if I can choose, the selfish thing that I would want is to die before you do but I would rather suffer the pain on my own and I would like to take care of you till the last minute of your life and after you die, I wish the Lord would take me away with you immediately as its too hard for me to bear without you by my side"

But sad fact is, our life is not under our control, but under God's and it will be too presumptous to say that you can choose when to die first before the Creator...

However, this story is interesting in the sense that despite being hopeless about facing his own death due to brain tumour, the husband(before his death) still managed to come up with ideas to use letters, travel holidays trips and friends to help his wife to get over his death and to carry on with her life, to be able to fall in love again. Who would expect to continually receiving letters from a dead person?

I think in a certain sense, love is selfish and who would want to share his loves one with someone else, even though he/she might have died? But out of true love for his wife, he choose to give her the blessings by using people to help her to get over the pain of losing him by planting people in her life.
Towards the end of the show, he wrote "Dear Holly, I don't have much time. I don't mean literally, I mean you're out buying ice cream and you'll be home soon. But I have a feeling this is the last letter, because there is only one thing left to tell you. It isn't to go down memory lane or make you buy a lamp, you can take care of yourself without any help from me. It's to tell you how much you move me, how you changed me. You made me a man, by loving me Holly. And for that, I am eternally grateful... literally. If you can promise me anything, promise me that whenever you're sad, or unsure, or you lose complete faith, that you'll try to see yourself through my eyes. Thank you for the honor of being my wife. I'm a man with no regrets. How lucky am I. You made my life, Holly. But I'm just one chapter in yours. There'll be more. I promise. So here it comes, the big one. Don't be afraid to fall in love again. Watch out for that signal, when life as you know it ends. P.S. I will always love you "
How many people would only want to be known as a chapter in the life of others? Anyway, though its not one of the best movies out there but its worth a watch for those who have nothing better to do...*Like me*
P.S. I don't know if I really love you :P
