小猪探险记之 台湾 (ending post) Mood: ![]() Hi there! If you have been clicking on my website for the past few days and are quite pissed why Chong Yak never update his blog, then please accept my apologies :P These past few days have been quite busy.... Just to keep some of my secondary school or JC classmates updated, I have just come back from a diving trip to Tioman Island... Was quite an enriching experience but shall talk about it some other time... Hehe...finally back to conclude my taiwan trip...Have been procrastinating till now to show you guys some of the pictures that I took, mainly in Alishan and Yangmingshan (a pity that I can't really climb Yu Shan since a permit is required)... Anyway, with regards to the previous post of Piggy at the crossroads, the story behind is that I was just thinking on the plane regarding some issue of whether to stay in Taipei or simply to travel alone to Alishan and just happen to draw the draft on the flight to CKS International Airport... Anyway, the decision from my dilemma was quite obvious that I chose to go to Alishan instead... Rough depiction of my itinery (to the best of my short term memory) 12th August 1800hrs Reached CKS Airport 2030hrs Meet up Youwen & Gary and went with XJ for dinner in Taipei 2300hrs Boarded the intercity bus to Chiayi city 13th August 0200hrs Reached Chiayi county (arghhh....bus arrived much earlier than expected) 0215hrs Walked to the train station where the tickets to Alishan can be purchase 0220hrs Thinking whether to sleep over at the trains stations but the danger of being mugged by the beggars sleeping there made me decided 'nahhh' 0230hrs Check in into a 'hotel' 0250hrs Knock out....ZZzzzzZZZ 0700hrs Rise & Shine 0800hrs Bought my tickets to Alishan & met a fellow traveller who's Malaysian but working in Singapore ![]() At Chiayi Train Station 0900hrs 'Choo Choo....' Off we go!!! Alishan Railway (one of the 3 remaining mountain railway in the world) The train ride was quite interesting as I met a taiwanese in his 50s...Found out that he is a principal of a primary school in Xiao Liu Qiu... Had a lot of things to talk about and he's a very knowledgeable man who keeps track about what singapore is doing...Ahaha...and he mentioned that I could stay at his place at Kaoshiung the next time I visit taiwan...Well, travelling alone does have its incentives sometimes!!! 1330hrs Reached the Land of many beauty and hunks ![]() The weather at Alishan is really cooling...heard from the fellow lady traveller that is quite similar to Genting, about 15 degrees celsius??? Upon reaching the resort zone, we were swamped by the accommodation owners with information about staying in their hotel...But we were damn lucky to get a NT$600 room...The next room in the same hotel cost $2000...Of course, this is a single room and the actual dimension of the room is........ one bed wide and about two and a half bed long??? hahahaha...yup, its super small...cos its actually reserved for tour guides but it just happen there is no tour groups at the time we were there... Anyway, who cares about the size of the room since I'm not staying there all the time... 1400hrs Had lunch and toured the sites around Alishan Forest Recreation Area ![]() Haiz...contrary to the song '高山青', I didn't see any beauty at Alishan or was there any hunks (maybe not at the recreation area at least =P)... But there's indeed lots of trees and fogs such that the view of the mountains were covered by the mist!!! Honestly, was quite disappointed at that point of time as I never expect Alishan to be so boring (in the sense of its scenary and nature stuff) 14th August 0350hrs Rise & Shine 0430hrs Got ready to set off to watch sunrise at Yushan National Park Yoohoo....my most exciting moments!!! Alishan is boring and I really hope that Yushan will not disappoint me after my huge anticipation about the beautiful scenary there since its one of Taiwan most beautiful national park... The tour guide is this really experienced 60 years old Peh Peh... Heard from the rest that he was commended for his explanation on many forums board for explaining the history of Alishan, its history as a logging area by the Japanese during the pre WWII period and how it now turn into a National Park (for Yu Shan)... It makes the whole trip really exciting....He just reminded me of one of those super experience warrant officer in the army... Look at the sea of clouds! Oh,one more thing, i think if they wanna film 'Initial D part II', they might want to consider filming it there...the roads are really quite winding...hehe... Initially thought we were nearly miss the sunrise cos it seems to be blocked by the clouds (imagine how unlucky one can get considering that in a year of 365 days, one can see the sunrise for 300 over days, a 82% chance that you will see the sunrise)... Anyway, just when we were about to head back home, the clouds suddenly cooperated and, yup, managed to catch the sunrise!!! Though its not as beautiful as expected...Haiz...maybe the next time... (I actually met a taiwanese when I stayed in the hostel back in taipei and he told me he had been up there 4 times but he has never get to see the sunrise before! I should be quite glad after all!) Anyway, the place is really quite beautiful...I will let the pictures speak justice for itself... Couple Trees That's basically the main thingy about the Alishan part of my Taiwan trip...the rest are mostly shoppings except the Yangming Shan episode (where I happen to meet one of my EDA project group mate the day before in ShihLin and we met to climb up Yangming Shan with one another SMU student and her sister)... Yupz..That's all for my short/long updates of my taiwan trip!!! (Shall talk about my diving trip some other time...) Qing Tian Gang at Yangming Shan Ah Yak reminisces on 11:34 PM

내 사랑 ---- My Love
Nae-Sarang, directly translated as My Love................I believe that in the heart of every person, there is a 'Love' of their life, it could be their family, their friends, that special 'someone', hobbies and even some particular habit that you grow to live without...I hope that through this blog, I can let my friends to have a glimpse of this part of my life, though may be short, but I hope that I will grow to love and remember, in this little room in my heart... PS: You might need to change your encoding to Unicode (UTF-8) to view some of the Korean and Chinese words
